August is National Shooting Sports Month!
We know you don’t need an excuse to go target shooting, but beginning August 1 you’ll have one. The first National Shooting Sports Month will focus attention on the fun and excitement of recreational shooting. Enjoy a round of trap or sporting clays, improve your handgun skills or give precision rifle a try. Experienced shooters are asked to introduce family members and friends to this rewarding lifetime activity. Don’t have a mentor? CCGC members would be glad to get involved, or another range near you will help you get started. Share your experience with #LETSGOSHOOTING.

Yesterday, the House State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee considered House Bill 1097, legislation to repeal the 2013 anti-self-defense law that limits the amount of ammunition a firearm magazine can hold. Unfortunately, the House committee voted on a party-line vote to defeat the bill and continue to prevent law-abiding Coloradans from being able to effectively defend themselves and their loved ones.
On Wednesday, January 11, the Colorado General Assembly begins its 2017 Legislative Session. It is important that gun owners and sportsmen across the state of Colorado stay actively involved throughout the New Year as well as stay-tuned to NRA-ILA email alerts and www.NRAILA.org as the session progresses.
Your NRA-ILA will continue to work hard to promote and protect your Second Amendment rights, and keep you updated on the status of legislation impacting your Second Amendment rights in Colorado.
