Newsletter and Calendars Have Been Sent Out

Check your inbox for the January 2019 issue of The Firing Line and the calendars for January-June 2019. They were sent out in e-mail a short while ago.

With the Democrats taking over the House of Representatives next week, and with the Democrats taking over both houses of the Colorado Legislature later next month, you can count on plenty of anti-gun discussion and legislation.

Included in the newsletter this month is an article on Red Flag Laws, little more than attempts to remove firearms from individuals with no constitutional basis to do so. With the increase in anti-gun discussion that is coming, there’s also an article about three gun “truths” you should know. I’ll let you read the article to find out what they are.

A few lockers have been retrieved as the membership drive for 2019 winds down. There is a deadline and a procedure to apply for a locker and/or to be placed on a waiting list. They don’t come available often, so this is your chance. The Board had a spirited discussion, but the folks who favored an open lottery lost out to those who wanted to hand out lockers based on seniority in the club.

Finally, an NRA First Steps Pistol Class will be taught on a trial basis the next three months. The last Sunday of January, February and March will be used for the member/member family only course. The cost is $39.95 per person. The class is designed for beginners, but anyone is welcome to take it, although there is an 8-person class limit. Classroom instruction is 9-11 am, range time is 11 am-1 pm. The course will be taught by a retired Denver Police Officer who has extensive firearms training and has instructed for several years.

At this point, the only other thing I can say is – HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Thanks for reading this site this year and keep coming back.
